Interview with =Nilanja
Nilanja has a gallery full of imaginative and creative conceptual photos. They're all very surreal and other-wordly - Pezi makes use of crafty trick photography to create an unlikely by extraordinary scene! Petra's photos often have interesting and thought provoking meanings hidden within them. This is especially noticeable in the photos produced during her recently completed A is for Alphabet Project!

Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Ashley Brooke. I LOVE gummybears and kneesocks and I'm a photographer oh and I like the color pink
     
When did you first really start to become enthusiastic about photography, and what sparked it?
 I've been into photography since I was in about 3rd grade. I've always had some sort of camera but I didn't get REALLY into until around 2004. My dad thought I had a really good eye for it and said I should join DeviantArt and show it off. So once I did that I just kept shooting more and more.
How did you discover deviantART, and has it made an impact on your passion for photography?

1) Who or What made you want to join dA?
I came on DeviantArt to try finally get some recognition for my drawings because besides my family no one even knew I liked drawing. and I also wanted recognition for my photos because I recently got a bridge camera.

Most people found it hard to have a point for their eyes to land on since the image is quite full of subjects.
This "messiness" though, also corresponds with the world the characters live in.
We liked your use of detail, the organic shapes you use, your lines and the style you used throughout the whole picture.
Things you could improve with your work would be to add a scene to set up the characters somewhere and using contrast and line thickness variations to help distinguish each creature (when overlapping).
It was also suggested to start with your images sketching them lightly and later on defining them with a darker pencil or pen.

*AlexanderPaupoff is a fantastic person who has believed in my artistic abilities from square one. Alex -as *AlexanderPaupoff likes to be called, is an extravagant artist. Alex can draw things that I certainly couldn't to that kind of detail, writes things that is a joy to read. Alex is humble and gives lots of encouragement towards everyone.
